Family fun at the ballpark

For Salem Days this year, they had a Big movie night down to the ball park. We had never gone before so we did this year. The boys were pretty excited at first then Sawyer wanted to go home once it started to get dark.
It was neat though. They played "SURFS UP" it was really a cute movie. Drew got a little restless there for a minute but by the end of the movie, Sawyer was happy, Carsen was happy, And Drew had fallen asleep. They even gave out free drinks, popcorn and growsticks. how fun is that!? We had a good time. A good night of Family Fun!

The Salem Days 5K!!!!

We did it!We ran the 5K this year. I was so glad that Nick ran it with me. How romantic! A few days before, my knee started really bothering me when I ran and Nick pulled his calf. So the night before we were kindof nervous. But it was great and I felt great the whole time. Nicks leg didn't start bugging him until the very end. We were at a good pace through it all and on the home stretch, I asked Nick, "Can you go faster?" Nick says "no my calf is hurting" Now I should have been the compassionate wife that I am and stayed right in stride with my partner, but this was the home stretch!!!! So I ditched him and went full force ahead. He didn't like that too well. We did good though. I beat my time from last time I ran. This year I ran it in 29 minutes 49 seconds. We were hoping to make it under 30 minutes. Nick made it in 29 minutes 57 seconds. So we made our goal!, ...barely!!! Nick placed  6th in his division and I placed 7th in my division. So all in all, I ditched Nick for a 8 second better time.(I am a jerk I know..) But the race was awesome. I always feel so good after one and anyone who is game for next year let me know!!!!

The bandwagon

Ok. So, I  really need to read this and get in the times! Hasn't everyone read this but me? But the question is... When does everyone have time? I fell like I am going full throttle ahead with my kids and photography and my house and husband. How is it done? Plus I am kind of a slow reader. Any tips?
But... I am dying to know what the fuss is about! Can a book really be that good? I need to find out for myself I guess. :) I need to jump on the bandwagon. Soon I will....PROMISE!!!

The Latest and greatest in Payson pool history

I am (and my boys) are loving the Payson Pool. It is so perfect for the little ones. Sawyer finally dared to go down the red slide ( the really small one) and he loved it. We went with my sister and all of her girls. We also took the neighbors (Avery and Mitchell) are we crazy? 8 kids!!!
Sawyer only made one attempt for the lazy river and got stopped by lifeguards.  He ran away from where we were and wanted to jump in. The lifeguards are wondering where is this little guys mother? As I come running over with a baby in hand! IT IS A JOB I WILL TELL YA WHAT!!

Carsen kindof looks malnourished. Whats up with that?
Food? For you Carsen?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!  ...haha

Blog overload!!!!

O.k. all you blog watchers, there is like 4 post I have done here. I am making up for lost time of blogging. I will try to stay caught up.

The 24th of July

I mean this is what the 24th is all about right? Good food, good friends, good family  and picking our buggers!
A funny story that this pic reminds me of...
It happened just a couple of days after this night. We were out to Nicks Mom's house watching more fireworks and Sawyer and the kids were playing around the house. At one point I noticed Sawyer in Uncle Jeds van. I got him out and told him "we don't get in other people's cars" As the night drew on and we got ready to leave Jed and his fam load up and go home. We get inour car to leave and as we are about to pull out, Jed comes back and pulls right beside us. Jed needs a wet wipe. Sawyer has wiped a big green juicy bugger on the steering wheel! Jed had it on his hand and was gaging! We asked Sawyer if he put a bugger on Uncle Jed's steering wheel and he says yes! What a kid! At least he's not eating them!!!
Drew really liked the fireworks this year. we were surprised. He just sat there in Awe. When they were done, he started to fuss cuz he wanted more.

I turn my back for one second.....

And I find this... One of my typical days home with this little guy....
This kid picks up on everything! We really have to watch what we do, say and act.
He says to me "mommy's pretty?" How can I be mad at that? Honestly!

Oh by the way... This was waterproof. It was a little bit more difficult to get off. Sawyer didn't think it was too fun getting his face scrubbed!

AWWW, those summer Nights!

Remember how much fun it would be to sleep out on the tramp? I loved it. When we got our tramp this summer, the boys were so excited to sleep out. Carsen and Mitchell (the neighbor) kept asking his parents if it would be o.k. and FINALLY they said yes.
So this was the night of all nights! They were stoked to say the least. It was a fun filled night
We went to Papa Murphy's and got pizza, breadsticks and cookies. Carsen was way excited to set up the beds. All I kept hearing "Can we set up our beds?"
So here is Carsen and his best little bud ever Mitchell.
Getting ready to go to sleep. Notice how Mitchell looks 'not too excited anymore' . About the time Nick and I said It's almost time to settle down and go to bed, we heard Mitchell say, "Well, I don't think I really like to sleep outside a whole bunch maybe sortof kindof well I don't know about this" We thought we know where this is going...

Some fun before bed...
Sawyer is so funny. He truly believes he is as old as all these kids. So funny!
Sawyer and Avery even found a cute little friendly cat. They loved it. Sawyer was carrying it around everywhere with him.
Sawyer hanging out in the stroller with his flashlight.
Here is Nick outside with his telescope. We stayed up watching the kids and watching the fire on Payson mountian. What a FIRE!!! But that is another blog entry...

So by the time they all got settled down and we said o.k it's time for bed, Sawyer wasn't so happy anymore and wanted his own bed. (which was totally expected) But as we listened through our bedroom window we could hear Mitchell saying "It is too hot out here and I can't sleep in the hotness." I go out and reassure everyone that everything is fine and it won't be too hot it will fell nice and cool and great. Carsen and Avery are still pumped and a night to sleep on the tramp and they are ready to go to sleep. I go back inside. Needless to say I woke up this morning to the tramp looking like this....

No kids. Mitchell started crying because he couldn't take the hotness and Avery started crying because she didn't want to go in but she had to because if Mitchell didn't sleep outside then either could she and then Carsen was mad because all he ever wanted in his whole life is to sleep on the tramp with Mitchell and now his life is over. DRAMA!
Nick offered to sleep out there but we all know Nick is not even near the coolness as neighbor Mitchell, so Carsen got in his bed. heartbroken I might add...
But I must add.. I was one of those kids. I could not sleep at peoples houses. I don't know if I was scared or what but I just liked my own bed. I was all for it until it came time to close my eyes and I was wanting to go home every time! So I feel ya Mitchell!
Aww the Summer sleep overs. Gotta love it!!!
