Good ol' Goshen days! We love it. It is what summer is all about. Parades, fireworks, watermelon busts, games at the park and rodeos! This year Nick and I decided to pull our trailer out to the big town (hillbilly I know) and stay the whole weekend. It was so fun! Friday night was the fireworks and Saturday was the big "ta-do". It started in the morning with the parade. The kids love it. They got so much candy! Sawyer loves to go on the rhino with Grandpa Kyle. Grandpa Kyle is one of his favorites. Drew loved all of it except for the loud fire trucks. This is Nick covering his ears and he has the look on his face like "what the heck!"
Afterwards there was games down at the church and later he went and watched an horse shoe tournament with my everyone. While we were there....
Oh my gosh, and the scariest thing happened.... We were all sitting around at the horseshoe game and the kids were playing and I look back and... no Sawyer. I start asking everyone "Have you seen Sawyer" O.k... he was gone so fast. I start looking thinking not much of it. I start to get frantic after about 5 minutes. I am looking in cars, in the house, down the road, at the church, and everyone else starts looking too. I am crying a little and so scared. A million things start to go through my head. He is in the well, someone has taken him, he is passed out in a hot car. By now it has been like 25 minutes! Forever!!!! Finally, my sister and her husband pull up from going to the store to get a candybar. They have him!!! She said, "He was following us and wanted to go so we took him." I am so upset at this point. And....I lost it..."YOU HAVE GOT TO TELL ME WHEN YOU HAVE HIM!!!!" I yell. I am bawling and holding him so tight and Sawyer is looking at me like I am hurt or something . "It's o.k. mommy" he says with this so innocent look. I have never been so scared in my whole life! Something like that really makes you think. Boy, I love my kids!!
It is so scary how fast they can just take off. And Sawyer is the worst. He wants to be going all the time and I can hardly keep up with him. Sometimes I think he is going to be the death of me. After the scare, I was so exhausted! Working myself up so much really wears me out!!
Anyways, after that we got ready and took the kids to the Rodeo. Sawyer wanted to ride a sheep but we thought, "maybe next year" The whole trailer thing was so fun. I think we will do it again next year. It was like we were on vacation to grandmas. Sawyer kept saying "we are camping at Grandmas!!" It was good times. Can't wait until next year!!!
