The very best gift given

It brings back so many memories for me when I see the looks on my boys faces when they get that first glimse of the presents that santa left for them. I remember that feeling of excitement. Did Santa Claus come? I remember one year, I was awake all night looking out the window hoping to see Santas sleigh flying through the sky and stopping at my house. No such luck. But having kids and watching them have those same feelings, really brings back the emotion of the belief in Santa.
It was really neat this year for us. This was Sawyer's first year of real Santa excitement. And of course Carsen had that too. Sawyer was more concerned about Santa Clause on the wrapper on the presents than actually unwrapping them. And Cars was the complete oppisite. He would unwrap one throw it aside and ask for the next.( We had a talk about that afterward) Carsen got his Pokemon toys and Drawing supplies that he asked for, Sawyer got his trucks and trains and Drew got everything on his christmas list too, diapers and milk. (With a few toys as well) Nick got a big nice hunting coat(just what he wanted) and I got a tanning pass and a shopping spree. (Just what I wanted!)
But all in all, I am blessed. We are blessed. I have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for the gifts that were under the tree on Christmas morning. I am thankful for the roof over my head. But most of all, I am so thankful for my friends and my family. Thats what it is all about right?  It is not all about the "things" we receive. This year I really thought about this. Sometimes it is easy to get so caught up in material things and we loose sight of what really matters. It is about The ones we love.It is about being with the ones we love. It is about loving the ones we love!
So at the end of the day (The long crazy Christmas day)..I think that The very best gift I was given was by my heavenly father who gave me my  wonderful, caring husband, my sweet ,beautiful boys, and my great, supportive family. I am one lucky girl! What more could I ask for!!

The latest craze!

Chuga Chuga Choo Choo! This year it is trains! Boy, our Sawyer bug loves trains. Grandma Vickies present this year was the big hit. She got him a cute little battery powered train that has a little track and Sawyer just loves it! On Christmas he played with it for hours. He would be playing in the corner with his train and ever so often we would hear Choo, Choo!!! So cute! Im glad we found what Sawyers latest craze is. I guess I will have to introduce him to Thomas. (Yes, he has never watched Thomas)

I can hope can't I?

What are the chances of Drew's eyes staying Blue? Nick is so sure they will change to brown. After all, both of our eyes are brown and that is the dominent gene. right? Well, he is almost 3 months now and still blue and beautiful as ever! So, I am hoping that they will stay blue. Nick  thinks Sawyers eyes were still blue when he was 3 months old. I say "whatever!!!"
I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Snow Day

Don't you love the snow? My Sawyer sure does! We took a Sunday drive up the Canyon and snapped a few pics. Sawyer was so cute in the snow! It is beautiful up there this time of year.

It's that special time of year again!

Christmas! Oh, Christmas!
It's a different kind of fun when you have kids. This year has been fun so far. Carsen wants nintendo games. (doesn't all 8 year old boys) This is Sawyers first year of Santa Claus discovery. "danta dause". He even sat on his lap. We were shocked. We thought for sure he would cry or something. And Drew is easy this year. He is asking for a diaper change and breast milk.
We are so blessed.

Getting along these days

Well, Drew is almost two months now. I know I can hardly believe its gone by that fast! But I am often asked. "How are you getting along these days" I'm guessing you are referring to sleep, which I don't get much of. So, being up in the night ( every 2 hours 4 if I am lucky) I've found reruns of a teen drama that was a big hit when I was in high school and too pre-occupied to care about it then. Watching just a few episodes, I was hooked. I found myself looking forward to the 2a.m. feedings.
Yes, Dawsons Creek is my new sweet pleasure. I have even went as far as renting from the first season. and so on. I find myself wanting to ask Nick"Can you believe Joey is acting like that?" (like we actually know them) I know, I am pathetic!
So, as far as How am I getting along these days? Drew is not sleeping through the night, but I am O.K. with that. Drew is doing great, I am doing great. Nick, Carsen and Sawyer are doing great. And Dawson, Pacey, Joey and Jen are fabulous!

The gift of the Holy Ghost

Carsen had the opportunity to get baptized this month. We had been counting down the days to "baptism day" and it was finally here! The morning was crazy in the taylor home but I guess that can be exspected. (What? no white underwear?) A trip to shopko this cold morning was in order. All in all, we made it. Even on time if you can believe it! This was a really neat thing for all of us. . His Grandpa Penrod Baptized and confermed him. Sawyer was right down front and center of the font, "WATER!!, WATER!!, WATER!!" We thought he would jump in with his brother taking a 'bath'. We were all so proud of Carsen! The next day in Sacrament, They called him up and congratulated him. We had been talking before church about bearing his testamony. He really didn't know much about this. He said "yes mom I'm going to do it" When the bishop called him up, he thought that was the time to do it. After the bishop shook his hand, Carsen stood there not knowing what to say. He had this half smile, half worried look on his face. "I don't know what to say" he whispered o the bishop. "It's O.K. you don't have to say anything." The bishop said to him. He walked back to his seat with a smile. We know he has the spirit in him. Carsen is our wonderful, special, great boy!
